Director of Systems Norway Cobham SATCOM develops, manufactures, sells and supports satellite and radio communication terminals and gateways/infrastructure for land borne, maritime, and airborne applications.
During this period I managed the profit unit, Systems Norway, responsible for development, test, maintenance and support of Inmarsat satellite gateway infrastructure. The profit unit had a total of 6 employees generating annual revenue of 13-18 MNOK, 30-40% above forecast.
Selected highlights:
* Contributed to the management decision to consolidate Danish and Norwegian operations in Denmark by providing detailed systems knowhow, equipment needs, budgets, profit and sales forecasts
* Managing the consolidation project, including training of Danish staff, and closing of the Norwegian branch office

Product Manager, Satellite Gateways Thrane & Thrane Norge AS / Nera SatCom AS was a world leading supplier of communication terminals and gateway infrastructure for land borne, maritime, and airborne applications (voice, fax, data, safety-solutions) over the Inmarsat satellite network.
As a part of the systems management team, leading the gateway common platforms department with a staff of 3-5 employees.

* Engineering, development, test and maintenance of subsystems such as satellite modems, frequency and terrestrial/IP switching systems, server applications, and 3rd party servers (software and hardware). The subsystems had strong real-time requirements with redundancy and security grouping design to meet the requirements for high availability.
